The
name "Inisheer/Inis Oírr"
comes from “Inis Oirthir"
meaning island of the east, the smallest
and the most eastern of the Aran Islands.
This
charming island is the closest to
Doolin, with only a 30 minute ferry
crossing. It has a population of 300
approx. and an area of around 2 miles
x 2 miles.

The
Jack B
ferry departs daily from Doolin
to Inis Oírr (Inisheer), the
closest of the 3 Aran Islands to the
Clare coast. The ferry crossing takes
30 minutes with about a 4 hour stay
on the island.
